Workplace Integrity & Anti-Corruption Reporting in Nigeria

Workplace Integrity & Anti-Corruption Reporting in Nigeria

This course equips all Nigerian organisation staff with the knowledge, confidence and practical skills to recognise corruption and misconduct, understand their legal obligations, and make protected whistleblowing disclosures in accordance with Nigerian law and policy.

Corruption and workplace misconduct undermine organisational performance, erode public trust and impose real costs on Nigerian businesses and communities. This course has been designed for all staff across Nigerian organisations — regardless of seniority or function — to provide a clear, practical grounding in what constitutes corruption and unethical conduct, what the law requires, and how to speak up safely and effectively when something is wrong.

Participants will explore Nigeria's key legislative and regulatory frameworks, including the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Act (ICPC Act), the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (Establishment) Act, the Federal Ministry of Finance Whistleblowing Policy, and the applicable Financial Sector Corporate Governance Codes issued by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) and the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). The course explains the protections afforded to whistleblowers, the proper channels for making a disclosure, and the responsibilities every employee carries under these frameworks.

This course is the All Staff module in a two-course Nigerian compliance set. It focuses on awareness, recognition and reporting — providing the foundation that every member of staff needs before more advanced, role-specific obligations are addressed in the companion course for managers and compliance professionals. On completion, participants will be able to identify red flags, choose the correct reporting channel, understand their legal protection and contribute meaningfully to a culture of workplace integrity.
