Whistleblowing Essentials Australia – Micro-course (15 Minutes)
A 15-minute microlearning course for all Australian staff covering whistleblower protections under the Corporations Act 2001, how to make a qualifying disclosure, eligible recipients, anonymity rights, and protection from detriment.
This micro-course equips all general staff across Australian organisations with the essential knowledge they need to understand and exercise their rights and responsibilities under Australia's whistleblower protection framework. Drawing on the Corporations Act 2001 (Cth) – as strengthened by the Treasury Laws Amendment (Enhancing Whistleblower Protections) Act 2019 – this course explains what a qualifying disclosure is, who can receive it, and what protections apply once a disclosure is made.
Participants will work through interactive modules covering the distinction between qualifying disclosures and personal HR grievances, the role of eligible recipients (including ASIC, APRA, and the ATO), anonymity rights, and protection from detriment such as dismissal, demotion, harassment, or victimisation. A short categorisation activity and a five-question knowledge check consolidate learning before participants view their personalised completion dashboard.
Completing this course helps your organisation meet its obligations under the Corporations Act 2001 to train staff, maintain an accessible whistleblower policy, and foster a speak-up culture that protects both individuals and organisational integrity. It is suitable for all staff regardless of role, seniority, or prior knowledge of compliance topics.
