Pan-African Corporate Ethics & Anti-Corruption Foundations
This course introduces all staff across pan-African organisations to their core ethics obligations, anti-corruption duties, and whistleblowing rights under the African Union Convention on Preventing and Combating Corruption and related national frameworks, building a culture of integrity from the ground up.
Corruption, bribery, and unethical conduct remain significant challenges across many African economies, undermining public trust, distorting markets, and harming the communities organisations serve. This course provides all staff with a clear, practical understanding of what constitutes corrupt and unethical behaviour, why it matters, and what every individual can do to uphold integrity in their day-to-day work. Grounded in the African Union Convention on Preventing and Combating Corruption (AUCPCC) and the domestic whistleblowing and anti-corruption legislation of AU member states, the course equips employees with the knowledge and confidence to act with honesty and accountability.
Across four to six focused modules, learners will explore the key provisions of the AUCPCC, understand the roles of pan-African and national regulators, recognise the many forms that corruption and misconduct can take, and learn how to report concerns safely and effectively through whistleblowing channels. Real-world scenarios illustrate how principles translate into everyday decisions, from handling gifts and hospitality to responding to requests for facilitation payments.
This course is the foundational 'All Staff' programme in a two-course set designed for pan-African organisations. A companion course for managers and compliance professionals provides deeper technical and governance content. Upon completing this course, all staff will understand their personal obligations, the protections available to reporters of wrongdoing, and how to contribute to a speak-up culture that protects both their organisation and the broader public interest.
