Bribery Prevention & Ethical Reporting in the Kenyan Workplace
This course equips all Kenyan employees with the knowledge to recognise, refuse and report bribery and corruption in the workplace, covering obligations under the Bribery Act 2016 and the Anti-Corruption and Economic Crimes Act, and explaining how to use whistleblowing channels safely and effectively.
Bribery and corruption pose a serious threat to Kenya's public institutions, private sector and broader economy. This course has been designed for all members of staff — regardless of role or seniority — to build a clear, practical understanding of what bribery looks like in everyday workplace situations, what the law requires of both individuals and organisations, and how every employee plays a part in maintaining an ethical culture.
Drawing on Kenya's key anti-corruption legislation — the Bribery Act 2016 and the Anti-Corruption and Economic Crimes Act (ACECA) 2003 — the course walks learners through the legal definitions of bribery and corrupt conduct, the personal and organisational consequences of non-compliance, and the specific duties placed on private-sector entities and public officers. Real-world scenarios are used throughout to make the concepts immediately relevant to day-to-day work.
This course is the All Staff course in a two-course set developed for Kenyan organisations. It complements a separate, more advanced course for managers and compliance professionals. On completion, learners will be able to identify red flags, decline improper requests with confidence, and report concerns through the appropriate channels — including to external regulators such as the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) — knowing that legal protections exist for those who speak up in good faith.
